Maybe issues from Katie\u2019s complicated and unhappy childhood could be resolved. But a rift between Helen and Zo\u00eb quickly jeopardizes the mother-daughter bond. Even therapy can&#8217;t help. Hafner is honest and matter-of-fact, but with the fallout from Helen&#8217;s alcoholism, there&#8217;s too much unfinished emotional business, and the trio&#8217;s best intentions fall short.
